University of Michigan to Host Mathematics MeetingFebruary 22, 2002 Providence, RI: The University of Michigan will host the Spring 2002 Central Section Meeting of the American Mathematical Society, March 1st through 3rd. Over 450 mathematicians from 33 states and 18 countries will gather at the University to present results of their research. Thirty of the University’s faculty and graduate students will be giving papers at the meeting. Included in this number are presentations by 19 faculty and visiting faculty in the Department of Mathematics and six by graduate students in the Department. In addition, eight members of the University faculty are co-authors of presented papers. Most talks given at the meeting are delivered at special sessions. Twelve members of the University’s Department of Mathematics are organizing special sessions on seven topics of research. Click here for the program.
