Indiana University to Host Mathematics Meeting

Providence, RI:

Indiana University will host the Spring 2003 Meeting of the Central Section of the American Mathematical Society April 4-6. Approximately 400 mathematicians from 40 states and 12 countries will gather at the University for the meeting.

Faculty participation in the meeting:

Eleven talks by members of the University’s mathematics department. Speakers from the Indiana University mathematics department faculty are: Scott Baldridge, Karen Ball, Richard Bradley, Reza Chamanara, James Davis, Victor Goodman, Elizabeth Housworth, Paul Kirk, Roger Temam, Lanh Tran and Cheng Wang.

Two mathematics faculty members, Eric Bedford and Roger Temam, are co-authors of talks.

In addition to presenting or co-authoring talks, 21 mathematics department faculty members are organizing sessions on 8 areas of research. The session organizers from the mathematics department are: Eric Bedford, Hari Bercovici, Richard Bradley, Jiri Dadok, James Davis, Bob Glassey, David Hoff, Christopher Judge, Paul Kirk, Ayelet Lindenstrauss, Charles Livingston, Russell Lyons, Winston Ou, Kevin Pilgrim, Ji-Ping Sha, Bruce Solomon, Roger Temam, Alberto Torchinsky, Lanh T. Tran, Shouhong Wang and Matthias Weber.

Graduate student participation:

Two University mathematics graduate students are giving talks. Those graduate students giving talks are: Kyounghee Kim and Taehee Kim.
