University of Central Florida to Host Mathematics Meeting

Providence, RI:

The University of Central Florida will host the Fall Meeting of the Southeastern Section of the American Mathematical Society November 9-10. Approximately 300 mathematicians from 40 states and 8 countries will gather at the university to present results of their research.

Faculty participation in the meeting :
There will be nine talks by members of the university\222s Department of Mathematics. Also, three mathematics faculty members are co-authors of talks. In addition to the talks there are eight Department of Mathematics faculty members organizing sessions at the meeting on six areas of research. Kathryn Seidel, Dean of the College of Arts and Sciences, will deliver a welcoming address at 11:00 a.m. Saturday in the auditorium (room 119) of the Business Administration building.

Graduate student participation :
Three university mathematics graduate students are also participating: two as presenters of talks and one as a co-author of a talk.
