University of California, Irvine to Host Mathematics Meeting

October 12, 2001

Providence, RI: The University of California, Irvine will host the Fall Western Section Meeting of the American Mathematical Society, November 10 and 11. Approximately 200 mathematicians from eight countries will gather at the University to present results of their research.

Among these presentations will be 12 given by people from the University’s Department of Mathematics and six presentations involving research done by members of the Department. In addition, six members of the Department of Mathematics faculty have organized sessions on five different areas of research.
