Submitting Reviews by Email
Submitting reviews by email to Mathematical ReviewsThe Editors of Mathematical Reviews (MR) invite reviewers to submit reviews electronically. Although the preferred method is to use the Electronic Review Submission Form on the Web, those with difficulty accessing the Web may use email to mathrev@ams.org, using the method described here. All reviews and messages sent by email will be acknowledged by email. If you do not receive an acknowledgment within two days, assume that the message did not reach the editorial offices of MR and please contact us again. Email submissions must adhere to the standard described below. The review text must be keyed in the TeX typesetting system. Review text may be prepared in plain TeX, AMS-TeX, LaTeX, or AMSTeX-LaTeX. If you are sending more than one review, use a separate message for each review. Mail that does not relate to a specific review (e.g., change of address) should also be sent in a separate message. Below is the standard template for a review done in plain TeX. The 7-digit MR Number must be after the \mrcno. If you have a recommendation for primary classification, place it after \rpclass (one class only, please). Recommendations for secondary classification are placed after the \rsclass. The \remarks control sequence is optional. It may be used for communicating notes and questions about the review to the editors. Place remarks between the braces after \remarks.
This template is downloadable. Choose the template appropriate to the TeX formatting package that will be used. You will also need the macro file review.sty.
References should be entered as simple text strings; it is not necessary to format them in any particular manner. Manuscripts must not contain any new definitions (e.g., \def, \newcommand) of TeX control sequences; it is important that reviews submitted electronically adhere to this rule. Avoid formatting such as \section, \proclaim, or \theorem. |
