These four volumes contain about 9600 reviews of papers which appeared in MR between 1940 and 1978 (Volumes 1 through 56). The reviews are classified in 530 sections arranged under 27 subject headings, and appear in their entirety. In addition to an author index, both a subject index and a key index are included.
