The following description of a job search process is based on a job search occurring in 2007/2008 by a graduate student at the University of Kentucky.  A few details apply only to UK students, and a few details are now outdated.  Specifically, the applicant never needed to utilize the Mathjobs.org application system (this would be rarer today) and the descriptions of the Employment Center interviewing program are accurate for the time (January 2008) but are no longer current since the program has changed significantly.
