In honor of the 100th aniversary of the birth of the Dutch printmaker Maurits Cornelius Escher (born June 17, 1898, died March 27, 1972) the AMS is pleased to reprint the article The Trigonometry of Escher's Woodcut "Circle Limit III", by H.
