Journal overview:

Aims and Scope

Published by the American Mathematical Society since 2014, this gold open access electronic-only journal is devoted to research articles in all areas of pure and applied mathematics. To be published in the Transactions, Series B, a paper must be correct, new, and significant. Further, it must be well written and of interest to a substantial number of mathematicians. Piecemeal results, such as an inconclusive step toward an unproved major theorem or a minor variation on a known result, are in general not acceptable for publication. Papers of less than 15 published pages that meet the above criteria should be submitted to the Proceedings of the AMS. Published pages are the same size as those generated in the style files provided for AMS-LaTeX.

Peer Review

All articles published in this journal are submitted to, and accepted by the Transactions of the American Mathematical Society editorial board, and are peer reviewed by external reviewers. Editors may reject papers without external review that are not suitable for publication in the journal due to reasons such as subject matter or clear weaknesses in scientific content or presentation style. Transactions of the AMS has adopted a double-anonymous peer-review model in which both authors and referees of a given article remain anonymous to each other. Questions about the initial submission process should be directed to jrnl-initsub@ams.org

This journal participates as a member of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) which provides support and guidance on peer review and all aspects of publication ethics.  Further detail can be found by reviewing our Ethical Guidelines and Journal Policies.

Submission information:

New articles should be submitted to the Transactions of the AMS Editorial Board since this board manages peer review for both the Transactions of the AMS and the Transactions of the AMS, Series B. Information can be found on the Submission for Peer Review page.

Article processing charge:

This freely available journal is supported by Article Processing Charges (APCs). It is generally assumed that an APC will be paid by a funding agency or by the author’s institution and not by the author personally. Payment of the APC is required before an article will move into production; only those articles with paid APCs will enter the Transactions, Series B, queue. APCs are waived for corresponding authors who are AMS members.

Copying and reprinting:

Articles published in this journal are distributed under the terms of either the Creative Commons Attribution-Noncommercial License (CC-BY-NC), which excludes commercial use, or the Creative Commons Attribution License (CC-BY), which allows commercial use. License determination can be found on the bottom of the first page of each published article. If you wish to reuse material from this journal for noncommercial purposes, you do not need further permissions. If you wish to reuse material published under a CC-BY-NC license for commercial purposes, please contact the AMS with the details of your request.

Publishing cycle:

Accepted articles are published electronically after proof has been returned from the authors.

Indexing and archiving:

This journal is indexed in Mathematical Reviews®, Zentralblatt MATH, and Scopus, and is archived in Portico and CLOCKSS.

Inquiries:

Any inquiries concerning a paper that has been accepted for publication should be sent by email or by postal mail to the Electronic PrePress Department, American Mathematical Society, 201 Charles Street, Providence, RI 02904-2213 USA.
