Benedetto’s trick and existence of rational preperiodic structures for quadratic polynomials

Abstract:

We refine a result of R. Benedetto in $p$-adic analysis in order to exhibit infinitely many quadratic polynomials over $\mathbb {Q}$ with a specified graph of rational preperiodic points.
