Orthocompactness and perfect mappings

Abstract:
An example is given which shows that orthocompactness is not preserved by perfect maps. Subparacompact pointwise star-orthocompact spaces are orthocompact; this shows that orthocompactness is preserved by closed maps in the presence of subparacompactness.References
