Abstract

On établit des théorèmes généraux d’existence de solutions pour les équations d’un corps en chute libre dans un fluide visqueux incompressible. Le système contient les équations de Navier-Stokes. Le cas stationnaire nécessite des outils topologiques un peu plus raffinés qu’à l’ordinaire.

We investigate the falling body problem. It involves the Navier-Stokes system, coupled with the equations of dynamics for the rigid body. One proves general existence theorems. In the stationary case, a sharp topological tool is needed, which gives rise to at least two solutions.
