Environment-Induced Superselection Rules in Markovian Regime

Abstract:

A generalization of the Jacobs–deLeeuw–Glicksberg splitting for a quantum dynamical semigroup is introduced. This generalization, called the isometric-sweeping decomposition, is used to derive effective superselection rules in the quantum system.
