"Money for Science Makes a Comeback," by Patrick Healy. Boston Globe, 19 September 2000.
Harvard mathematics professor and former AMS president, Arthur Jaffe, provides the lead for this article's opening, "Can we get Arthur Jaffe into that Domenici meeting?" The article concerns the Science Coalition---a collection of 62 universities that lobbies to increase research funds for agencies such as the National Science Foundation, the National Institutes of Health and the Department of Energy---and the efforts of its members on Capitol Hill during Science Day 2000.
