"Death of an Altruist," by James Schwartz. Lingua Franca, July/August 2000.
This article tells of the life and research of George Price. "He was the first to apply the principles of game theory to the analysis of animal conflicts, and he discovered an elegant formula to describe evolutionary change," Schwartz writes. Price's story is a tragic one---he received little recognition when he was alive and killed himself in 1975 by cutting his throat with a pair of nail clippers.
