"The Logic of Human Learning," by Nick Chater, and "Minimization of Boolean Complexity in Human Concept Learning," by Jacob Feldman. Nature, 5 October 2000.
Jacob Feldman, of Rutger's University's Center for Cognitive Science, presents evidence that how difficult a concept is to learn can be measured by the shortest Boolean string required to express that concept. Feldman's work fits well with the idea of Kolmogorov complexity, which measures the complexity of a concept by the the length of the shortest computer program that could generate it.
