"Melifluous mathematics: Helaman Ferguson's topological sculpture," by Martin Kemp. Science in Culture, Nature, 14 June 2001.

"There are few who can proffer such a unified curriculum vitae in art and science as the mathematical sculptor and sculptural mathematician, Helaman Ferguson," writes Kemp in response to Ferguson's exhibition of sculptures and photographs at the National Science Foundation in Arlington, VA, until 31 July 2001. The writer describes the artist/mathematician's work as sensual, skilled, inventive, mathematical, and "invitingly complex and elegant."
