Th DFG Research Centre for Mathematics for Key Technologies has just opened and willl receive 5 million euros (US$5 million) per year from Germany's main research funding agency (the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) and 3 million euros per year from Berlin's state government. Martin Grötschel, spokesperson for the new center, says that the center will hire six new full professors, seven young principal investigators, and 60 additional scientific staff in the upcoming months.
