"Earth and Mars share a clock in the sky," by Sharon J. Huntington. The Christian Science Moinitor, 30 December 2003.

The reporter explains that the Mars Exploration Rovers will be able to tell us the time there by using the same system used for thousands of years here on Earth--the sundial. The article describes how Greek mathematician Eratosthenes used geometry to calculate the size of the Earth, and how sundials using those principles have been used to track time and distance over the centuries. The article encourages readers to track the status of the MarsDials.
