In particular he has made fundamental contributions in areas including: the $\overline{ tial}$-Neumann problem, singular oscillatory integrals, pseudodifferential operators, the complex Monge-Ampère equation, Kähler-Einstein geometry, the Ricci flow, as well as important work in areas of mathematical physics such as string theory, conformal field theory, integrable systems, and Seiberg-Witten theory.
