Air Alliance Travel Information
Our grant from the National Science Foundation requires that all airline travel (both domestic and international) be ticketed through an American carrier. However, you may travel on a foreign airline that has an alliance with an American carrier. Simply contact the appropriate American company, request the airline you wish, and make sure the American company issues the ticket. The following is a listing of the largest alliances. Please note that the members of these groups can change so please verify that the American carrier and the foreign carrier you wish to use are in the same alliance and that the trip is booked through the American carrier. This list is current as of March 21, 2006. Please also review the information on the "National Science Foundation Travel/Use of U.S. Flag Air Carriers" sheet.
