Special Session on Analysis, Computation, and Applications of Stochastic Models, I
There may exist uncertainty which arises from various sources such as thermal fluctuation, impurities of the materials and the intrinsic instabilities of the deterministic evolutions in applications. Therefore, it is interesting and necessary to consider the stochastic effects, and to study the impact of the noises on stability of the solutions, longtime behavior, and their approximations. The focus of this special session will be on computational methods for stochastic models as well as their applications in various areas. It involves design, analysis, and implementation of efficient numerical methods for solving random/stochastic partial differential equations. The special session aims to bring together researchers from various fields to report the recent developments in numerical methods, the implementation, and applications of stochastic models. The topics to be covered include numerical solutions of random/stochastic ordinary and partial differential equations, stochastic computing and optimization, stochastic computing and data science, uncertainty quantification, stochastic optimal control, and applications.
