Th DFG Research Centre for Mathematics for Key Technologies has just opened andwilll receive 5 million euros (US$5 million) per year from Germany's mainresearch funding agency (the Deutsche Forschungsgemeinschaft) and 3 millioneuros per year from Berlin's state government. Martin Grötschel,spokesperson for the new center, says that the center will hire six new fullprofessors, seven young principal investigators, and 60 additional scientificstaff in the upcoming months.
