"How mathematical beauty surfaces in art." In Brief, New Scientist, 10 May 2003, page24.

This short item shows two nice pictures of computer generated minimal surfaces, which are mathematical renditions of the shapes that result when wire framesare dipped into a soap-bubble solution. The pictures were made bymathematician Matthias Weber, who according to the text "has been able torecreate the shapes of modern sculptures using minimal surface equations."
