CIRM call for proposals for the first semester of 2020

CIRM invites submission for proposals for one-week mathematical conferences and research schools and longer thematic sessions to take place in the first semester of 2020.

DEADLINE 31 MARCH 2018

Proposals should include:

A description stating the goal and purpose of the event (also a summary in French)
A list of the members of the organizing committee (reminder: one of the members must come from a foreign institution) and of the scientific committee
A preliminary list of confirmed speakers
A preliminary list of tentative and confirmed participants
Three possible dates
A preliminary detailed budget

Format

Events generally start on a Monday morning and end by Friday 6pm.

CIRM provides:

Subsidized board and lodging on the premises for up to 40 participants.
Space for board and lodging for 46 extra participants (external funding is necessary). See the Rates here http://www.cirm-math.com/rates.html.
A lecture hall seating up to 95 people and seminar rooms of various sizes which can be reserved - if free - to split the main group.
Filming by a professional team (five talks are filmed each week, one is post-edited and has keywords / chapters added).
24/7 access to CIRMís extensive library.
Photocopies, scan, Wifi.
Two free coffee breaks per day. All-day tea facilities. CIRM Lounge bar in the evening from 9:30pm to 11:30pm.

Important dates:

31 March 2018: deadline to send an online application.

15-16th May 2018: evaluation by CIRMís international scientific committee. Proposers are contacted within a week to learn if their application was successful and to finalize the date.

July 2018: successful applicants receive further information regarding the preparation of their future event, as well as a schedule.

Autumn 2018: a mini-website is created and updated by the Events Coordinator for your event, based on the information provided in your application. Note that this mini-website will enable potential participants to pre-register for the event as soon as they are online.
