Abstract:

It is shown that there exists a nonseparable completely metrizable bounded metric space $(X,d)$ such that the hyperspace $CL(X)$ of the nonempty closed subsets of $X$ endowed with the Hausdorff metric $H_d$ is not completely metrizable.
