Splitting of geodesics in homology classes

Abstract:

We prove a Chebotarev density theorem for closed geodesies in a fixed homology class on a compact hyperbolic surface. The theorem (and its proof) combines some work of Adachi-Sunada and Phillips-Sarnak.
