AMS Homework Software Survey

The American Mathematical Society undertook an online survey of 1230 U.S. mathematics and statistics departments in spring 2009 to:

  • i) assess the experiences of departments using homework software; and
  • ii) understand the concerns of departments that were considering such software.

The survey was an outgrowth of work of the AMS Task Force on the First-Year Mathematics Experience.   This survey project was supported by the National Science Foundation. This project was funded by a grant from the National Sciences Foundation to the American Mathematical Society, award number DUE0837131.  Any opinions expressed in this report represent judgments by the project personnel and the AMS and do not represent the views of the National Science Foundation.

An article in the June/July 2010 Notices summarizes the analysis of the survey responses.
