The transformer that provides electricity to the AMS building in Providence went down on Sunday, April 22. The restoration of our email, website, AMS Bookstore and other systems is almost complete. We are currently running on a generator but overnight a new transformer should be hooked up and (fingers crossed) we should be fine by 8:00 (EDT) Wednesday morning. This issue has affected selected phones, which should be repaired by the end of today. No email was lost, although the accumulated messages are only just now being delivered so you should expect some delay.
Thanks for your patience.
We invite you to represent your school's graduate program at the Joint Mathematics Meetings in January. Co-hosted by the AMS and MAA, the graduate school fair is an opportunity to attract attention and to create interest in your program in the mathematical sciences. The 2017 graduate school fair in Atlanta, Georgia was well attended!
The 2018 graduate school fair will include:
The event is free for registered students to attend.
Taking advantage of the growing presence of undergraduate participants at the January meetings, the graduate school fair has become a well attended event with 60+ schools each year interacting with the over 300 undergraduates. Schools will pay a small table fee (US$125) that covers the cost of coffee and tea service.
Representatives set up tables with colorful banners, flyers and handouts. Undergraduates are able to enjoy a lively & informative environment to gather information about schools they may be interested in attending. Often, potential grad students are able to interact with current grad students from some of the schools attending.
Registration is open and will be part of your Joint Meetings Registration.
