The book under review consists of nine chapters by different authors, all focused on themes at the interface of geometry and physics. Covering a historical period that saw the emergence of such revolutionary notions as curved space-time, the book discusses the contributions of many of the most important researchers of the time, including Albert Einstein, Heinrich Hertz, Henri Poincare, Hermann Minkowski, and David Hilbert.
