"Galileo points the way": Review of Galileo's Finger, by Peter Atkins. Reviewed by Frank Wilczek. Nature, 27 March 2003.
Wilczek reviews Galileo's Finger, by Peter Atkins. The reviewer highly recommends the book for its successful identification and exposition of "the Ten Great Ideas" in science. The book includes a chapter, "Arithmetic," that covers foundational issues and so is somewhat different than the other chapters, as the reviewer claims that Atkins moves into areas of speculation: "Our brains, and their product mathematics have exactly the same logical structure as the physical universe itself."
