PETITION ON BEHALF OF MATHEMATICIAN IBNI OUMAR MAHAMAT SALEH

The American Mathematical Society’s Committee on Human Rights of Mathematicians has petitioned the Honorable Idriss Deby, President of the Republic of Chad, on behalf of Mathematician Ibni Oumar Mahamat Saleh who was abducted from his home on February 3, 2008 and no official information on his whereabouts is known.

The Committee also encourages AMS members to visit

and sign a petition initiated by French mathematicians familiar with Professor Saleh.
