Aims and Scope

Launched by the American Mathematical Society in 2021, Communications of the American Mathematical Society (CAMS), is dedicated to publishing the very best research and review articles across all areas of mathematics. The journal presents a holistic view of mathematics and its applications to a wide range of disciplines, as an inclusive home for mathematicians around the world in support of emerging research in mathematics.

Peer Review

All articles appearing in this journal are peer reviewed by external reviewers. Editors may reject papers without external review that are not suitable for publication in the journal due to reasons such as subject matter or clear weaknesses in scientific content or presentation style. Communications of the AMS has a single-anonymous peer-review process in which the reviewers know who the authors of the manuscript are, but the authors do not have access to the information on who the peer reviewers are. Questions about the initial submission process should be directed to jrnl-initsub@ams.org.

Diamond Open Access

The AMS is pleased to be able to launch CAMS using a diamond open access model. The key features of Diamond open access for CAMS are as follows:

• No charges, or article processing charges for authors who publish in CAMS.
• All articles are publicly available to read without charge to individuals, or institutions.
• All articles will be published with an appropriate Creative Commons License of CC-BY, CC-BY-NC, CC BY-ND, or CC BY-NC-ND, at the author’s discretion.

The AMS believes that while open access is important to the future of research across the mathematical community, we do not want to place the burden of publishing in CAMS on the author, institution, or funder. CAMS will provide the very best mathematical research at no cost to the community. We are able to do this with the help of an AMS donor, who shares our belief that providing open access in mathematics is an important step forward if done in a way that is sustainable, and does not negatively impact researchers.

Individual readers of this publication, and nonprofit libraries acting for them, are permitted to make fair use of the material, such as to copy an article for use in teaching or research. Publishing cycle:

Accepted articles are posted individually after proof has been returned from the authors. Communications of the AMS is accessible from the Communications of the AMS landing page.

This journal is indexed in Mathematical Reviews®, Zentralblatt MATH, and is archived in Portico and in CLOCKSS.
