Free Boundary Problems in Science and Technology

Avner Friedman

Free boundary problems in partial differential equations are those in which a part of the boundary of the domain is unknown in advance. The author gives examples to show how the theory of these problems has concrete applications, such as in electrophotography, chemical vapor deposition, coating flows, and tumor growth.
