Grant Program for the Mathematical Congress of the Americas (MCA 2021)

Grants, Calls for Applications / Graduate students, Postdocs/early career, Mathematical scientists/faculty

Applications are welcome from U.S. based mathematicians for support to attend the virtual Mathematical Congress of the Americas (MCA 2021), scheduled for July 19-24, 2021, in Buenos Aires, Argentina.

This grant program, along with funding from the National Science Foundation (NSF), will provide support for the following U.S. based mathematicians:

* Full-time graduate students
* Early-career mathematical scientists (who earned a doctorate no earlier than July, 2015)
* Mid-career mathematical scientists (who earned a doctorate prior to July, 2015)
* Special Session speakers at MCA 2021
* Special Session organizers at MCA 2021

This funding is intended for those whose participation in MCA 2021 is not supported with other funding. Women and members of U.S. groups underrepresented in mathematics are encouraged to apply. Priority will be given to early-career mathematicians.

Funding will cover the MCA registration fee (\$50) plus a stipend of up to \$250. This stipend is intended to assist in offsetting conference-related expenses that will allow the awardee a more focused meeting participation, which otherwise would not be possible. With funding from the NSF, the AMS is administering the selection, award, and reimbursement process of this travel grant program.

Applications are being accepted until April 30, 2021.
