The International Mathematical Union (IMU) invites professional mathematicians to nominate highly motivated and mathematically talented students from developing countries who plan to complete a doctoral degree in mathematical sciences in a developing country. The IMU Breakout Graduate Fellowship program offers a limited number of complete grants, with a duration of up to four years, for excellent students from developing countries to earn a doctoral degree.
The program is funded by generous donations by all the winners of the Breakthrough Prize in Mathematics to Friends of the IMU, USA (www.friends-imu.org) and to the IMU.
