Abstract:

The (multivalued) higher logarithms are interpreted, by studying their monodromy, as giving well-defined maps from ${\mathbf {P}}_{\mathbf {C}}^1 - \left \{ {3\;{\text {points}}} \right \}$ into certain complex nilmanifolds with ${{\mathbf {C}}^ * }$-actions.
