About this Prize
This prize was established in 1998 using funds donated by Mrs. Sally Whiteman in memory of her husband, Albert Leon Whiteman.
The US$5,000 prize is awarded every three years.
Most Recent Prize: 2024The 2024 Albert Leon Whiteman Prize of the American Mathematical Society is awarded to Leo Corry of Tel Aviv University (TAU) and the Open University of Israel, "for his exceptional scholarship and exposition elucidating the roles of axioms and structures in the practice of modern mathematics and physics, as well as for his many contributions to the field of history of mathematics as an editor, mentor, and communicator, "
