Nature announces that the Banff International Research Station will openin 2003. "The station will cost about US$1.5 million per year to run, and will besupported in roughly equal parts by the NSF, the Natural Sciences andEngineering Research Council of Canada, the Alberta Science and ResearchAuthority and PIMS [the Pacific Institute for the Mathematical Sciences]," thearticle states. Approximately 40 mathematicians will attend the five-dayworkshops at this new center in the Canadian Rockies.
