AAS-AMS-APS Public Service Awards, 2003

The American Mathematical Society joined the American Astronomical Society and the American Physical Society to present their fourth annual Public Service Awards at a reception on Capitol Hill. The awards are given annually to individuals who have performed outstanding public service in support of science. This year's recipients were

Congressman Sherwood L. Boehlert (R-NY), chairman of the House Science Committee,
Congressman Alan B. Mollohan (D-WV), ranking member of the House Appropriations Subcommittee on VA, HUD and Independent Agencies,
Senator Pete V. Domenici (R-NM), chairman of the Senate Energy and Natural Resources Committee and of the Senate Appropriations Subcommittee on Energy and Water.
