Joint Meetings Planning Committee (JMPC)
General Description
- Committee is ad hoc
- Number of members is 6, consisting of the AMS Executive Director, the AMS Associate Executive Director for Meetings and Professional Services, the AMS Director of Meetings, the AMS Secretary, one Associate Secretary and one Member at Large (3- year term), both appointed by the President.
Principal Activities
To oversee the planning for and conduct of the annual January mathematics meetings, including the overall structure of the program, the overall schedule, and the inclusion of sessions and events sponsored by other organizations.
The Joint Meetings Planning Committee will keep the Council and the Board of Trustees informed of its planning activities.

The American Mathematical Society is committed to promoting and facilitating equity, diversity and inclusion throughout the mathematical sciences. Note to the Chair
For the purpose of archiving the committee activities, the Secretary maintains a central file system for archiving committee records. Committee Chairs are asked to submit committee records on yearly basis. Chairs can submit material at their discretion, and some materials that they may wish to provide are meeting minutes, agenda, and emails. Confidential material should be noted, so that it can be handled in a confidential manner.
