The Mathematical Sciences Employment Center at the 2006 Joint Mathematics Meetings

The Mathematical Sciences Employment Center serves as a meeting place and information center for employers and Ph.D.-level job seekers attending the Joint Mathematics Meetings. The Center is open for the four days of the meetings. Most participants register in advance, and their brief resumé or job description is printed in a booklet that is mailed to all participants in advance. Each year the Employment Center houses two services: the computer-scheduled interview tables, and the employer-scheduled interview tables. The Mathematical Sciences Employment Center is sponsored by the American Mathematical Society (AMS), the Mathematical Association of America (MAA), and the Society for Industrial and Applied Mathematics (SIAM); it is managed by members of the AMS staff with the general guidance of the AMS-MAA-SIAM Committee on Employment Opportunities.
