Help early career scholars balance work and family expenses to attend the Joint Mathematics Meetings. Make a gift
At a time when attending meetings can be most beneficial, early-career mathematicians often struggle to balance child care needs, funds, and care logistics.
In response to this oft-expressed challenge, the AMS and the Mathematical Association of America changed the format for child care at the JMM from on-site daycare to that of grants issued to families to spend on childcare as best suits their needs.
Grants of $250 per family help offset child care costs. The new program has been well-received, with families appreciating the flexibility the funds provide, which allows them to procure care as best suits their needs.
Your gift helps the AMS improve the work environments for these mathematics professionals.
