AMS Booth Events at the 2015 Joint Mathematics Meetings

Saturday, January 10th – Monday, January 12th

Don’t forget about the exhibit discount!  It is an all day, everyday event! AMS members enjoy a 40% discount on most AMS titles. Non-members receive a 25% discount on most AMS titles. Not a member? Stop by our booth to learn about the benefits of AMS membership.

Connect and Recharge with the AMS: Stop by the membership booth to utilize the new charging station and boost your energy by treating yourself to something sweet!  See and learn more about how the AMS Graduate Student Chapters are collaborating, and receive a gift when you renew your membership.

Saturday, January 10th

2:15 pm – MathSciNet Challenge
MathSciNet demonstrations will take place daily at 2:15 pm. Demonstration attendees will get a MathSciNet t-shirt and can participate in a fun MathSciNet trivia game.  Three lucky winners will get $75 American Express gift cards!

5:00 pm – Grand Opening Raffle Drawing
One lucky winner will receive a $100 AMS Bookstore Gift Certificate and a copy of our new children’s book, Really Big Numbers, with coordinating t-shirts (youth size small, adult size large). Stop by early to enter the drawing—you do not need to be present to win.

Sunday, January 11th

10:00 am to 11:00 am – Meet Titu Andreescu
Author and founder of AwesomeMath, Dr. Andreescu has dedicated his career to bringing the joy and challenges of competition math to students around the world. Come speak to Dr. Andreescu, browse our selection of XYZ Press titles, and sign up to win the XYZ Press book of your choice.

2:15 pm – MathSciNet Challenge

2:45 pm – Mathematical Reviews Celebrates 75 Years
Come and celebrate with us and have a slice of MR cake! Pick up a mini-notebook featuring the cover of the inaugural issue of Mathematical Reviews. Meet the new MR Executive Editor, Edward Dunne!

Monday, January 12th

1:00 pm – Book Signing with Peter Lax and Reuben Hersh
Join us to meet the biographer and the subject of our new book, Peter Lax, Mathematician: An Illustrated Memoir. Snacks will be served.
