Annual Survey of the Mathematical Sciences
PhDs Awarded

Information pertaining to the number of PhDs awarded, along with demographics (gender, race, ethnicity, citizenship), thesis titles, and employment status is reported annually by doctoral-granting mathematical sciences departments. This information is then supplemented by data obtained through the Employment Experiences of New Doctoral Recipients questionnaire sent to the individual PhD recipients.

Presented here are the reports and summary data based on the information provided by these departments and doctoral recipients, as reported to the Annual Survey.

Historical Information on Doctoral Degrees Conferred (Names & Thesis Titles)

A complete list of the names and thesis titles of recipients of doctoral degrees reported in the mathematical sciences is published each year in the August issue of the Notices.

Prior to 2009-2010, a preliminary list of names appeared in the February issue of Notices with the names of those not received in time for this issue being reported in a supplementary list at the end of the Report on New Doctoral Recipients published in the August issue of Notices.

The lists below provide information on Doctorates Granted between July 1 -- June 30.  Supplement lists, where created, have been appended to the end of the PDF files.
