Preparing your manuscript for publication

Submitting your manuscript

The AMS uses Centralized Manuscript Processing for initial submissions to our journals. The preferred method for initial manuscript submission is to upload a PDF file for peer review. Links to specific instructions are available on each journal's home page.

Where to send files for accepted papers

Tracking the progress of your manuscript

Track an accepted article through the AMS journals publication stream using the Manuscript tracking system.

Making changes to articles after publication

To preserve the integrity of electronically published articles, once an individual article is electronically published but not yet in an issue, changes cannot be made in the article. The AMS policy on making changes to articles after publication provides information about  submitting an errata.

Offprints

For most AMS journals, free downloadable and printable PDF versions of published articles will be available upon print publication.

Notification email will be sent as soon as an article is published in print with information about accessing the offprints site through each author's AMS Web account. If an author has an existing Web account, a reminder of their Username will be provided to help log in. If an author does not have a Web account, their AMS customer code (AMSID) will be provided to use along with their name and email to establish a Web account.

This electronic delivery system eliminates the delay from print publication to offprint delivery that previously resulted from printing, sorting, and mailing paper offprints and will provide authors with permanent access to their article once it is published.
