MR Database

Since its founding in 1940, Mathematical Reviews(MR) has served researchers and scholars in the mathematical sciences by providing timely information on articles and books that contain new contributions to mathematical research. The MR Database, containing MR information back to 1940, is now maintained electronically.

New features on MathSciNet
Three notable enhancements have been made in the latest version of MathSciNet:
  • Expanded Citation Searches

A search feature now allows MathSciNet users to find the top cited books and top cited journal articles by subject classification and by publication year. A new search page is reached by clicking on the Citations tab.  Here, one finds the Author Citations search, the Journal Citations search, a search for highly cited articles and books by classification and by year, and the Top 10 Lists.  Click on the Top 10 Lists tab to find a drop-down menu that provides Top 10 Books and Top 10 Journal Articles, ranked according to the number of citations to the book or article in a given year as well as Top 10 Journals ranked according to the Mathematical Citation Quotient (MCQ).
  • Library Branding

At the request of librarians, subscriber names are now presented in the upper right-hand corner of each search page.
  • Digital Object Identifiers

The digital object identifier (DOI) is widely used to locate and identify publications available on the internet.  As part of the BibTex information available from the drop-down which reads Select alternative format, MathSciNet now presents DOIs for approximately one million electronic publications.
For more information on these and other developments, see About MathSciNet.
